Use a rate shown for the exact hatch you are testing. A map egg Luck value is not a pet probability, and shop egg shares and Index odds are different systems.
Try the odds calculator
Each attempt must be independent with the same rate. These inputs are yours, not verified game odds.
What the calculator assumes
The same target has probability p on each independent attempt. Enter p as a percentage or as 1/N. The chance of at least one success after A attempts is 1 − (1 − p)^A. The tool uses a stable logarithm for very rare rates.
Why 1 in N is not a promise
At N attempts, the chance is about 63.2%, not 100%. A streak of misses does not improve the next independent attempt. The median count is lower than the average 1/N expectation expressed as N attempts.
Use the right odds
Copy a percentage or 1-in-N rate from the exact egg or Index entry you are playing. The listed Luck on a map egg describes a different value. Do not combine the 1% Dragon Egg shop rate with a map-egg Index rate.
Plan a realistic session
Use the 50% and 90% milestones to compare the scale of a target with your actual attempts per session. These are probability markers, not guarantees or a prediction of spawn timing.
This is probability math based on your input. It does not verify a game rate, egg contents, Luck effect or purchase cost.
Questions players ask
How many eggs guarantee a pet?
No finite count guarantees a hit when each attempt has a chance below 100%.
Does a 1 in 1,000 rate mean 1,000 attempts is enough?
No. With independent attempts, 1,000 tries give about a 63.2% chance of at least one hit.
